WTF IS NEXT is a short documentary film that captures a pivotal moment in the evolution of Williamstown Theatre Festival. Set over an electrifying four-day weekend in the summer of 2024, the film goes behind the scenes of an ambitious new experiment that brought together an eclectic mix of artists, organizers, and community voices in the Berkshires to explore bold new ways of creating and experiencing live performance.

WTF IS NEXT offers an exclusive look at an iconic 70-year-old summer arts festival in transformation, where long-standing traditions are questioned, boundaries are pushed, and the future of one of America’s most iconic theater institutions begins to take shape.
